Apple Rumored to Have a New Tablet with a Robotic Arm
Not long after putting an end to its car-making endeavour earlier this year, there are fresh rumors about Apple working on a new smart home device.
"Venturing into uncharted territory" seems to be Apple's watchword this year as they are rumoured to take on another non-smartphone device market. The tech giant is rumoured to be working on a tabletop home device that's more than just another smart speaker.
According to Bloomberg, the device resembles an iPad attached to a long, thin, robotic arm. Designed to be a hands-free assistant, the device can be vocally commanded to manipulate the iPad in any direction. Unlike stationary smart speakers, like Amazon's Echo, its mobility enhances the user experience.
The device is supposedly going to run on Apple's artificial intelligence model, Apple Intelligence. That's one more step to AI becoming a core part of our lives. But with how much it might launch at, it being a 'core' part might still be questionable.
The device is said to be unveiled as early as 2026 or 2027 at a small small price of $1000. However, with details not confirmed by the company and a spokesperson at Apple refusing to comment, things could very easily change completely.
If Apple successfully enters the smart home market with this device, it could revolutionize home technology, potentially giving it a significant advantage in this new sector. With Kevin Lynch, a proven leader in innovative product development, as the head of this project, the potential for groundbreaking results is high.
All in all, with all eyes on Apple, to come up with something new and exciting other than the iPhone, I hope to see the Apple logo in parts of the store I'm not used to. It's really nice to see Apple experiment things and attempt to be the first in line for something. By 2026, we can expect to see a lot of projects unveiled from them.
