Artificial Intelligence Coaches: What is the new phenomenon

One thing people will be doing until the end of time is trying to learn new skills. Previously, if you wanted to learn a new skill, you would’ve had to go out and physically learn from someone.

However, since the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI), this has slightly shifted.

AI coaches have seen a significant increase in usage due to their recent successes, being used in numerous different walks of life, from learning to code to playing poker. AI coaches work in a similar way to a real-life coach, providing you with key help, tips and guidance in your chosen subject.

They can provide guidance on where to start, if you’re a beginner, or where you can improve for someone further down the line. In this article, we’ll be taking a look into AI coaches, and what exactly these new phenomena are.

AI coaches seemed to appear out of nowhere and just burst onto the scene. They’re able to provide personalised guidance and support on specific subjects when people are looking for improvement in that area.

AI coaches are great as they completely alleviate the need for a real person, saving both time and money in the process. The AI coach is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no questions asked and any information is available instantaneously.

By using AI, the coach can look through huge amounts of files and data, and provide you with summaries, reports and figures which could be crucial for your development. This is great as if you were to ask a real person to go through this information, it would take a significant amount of time to review.

But what are some of the areas AI coaches are currently used in? Let’s take a look:

Career progression

One thing lots of people struggle with is career progression. Sometimes people can be stuck and unsure where their next job or promotion is coming from. By using an AI coach, people can use it to get feedback on CV’s, interview preparation and even breakdown and guidance on interview feedback.

Having this information available at the touch of a button is an incredible help to people trying to move up in their jobs.

Health and fitness

Going to the gym can be tough for some people, staying fit and eating healthy can be one of the most difficult things to keep on top of. However, using an AI coach can make it that small bit easier as it’s able to create both meal and workout plans for you in an instant.

You can tell it what your goals are and what you’re working towards, input your diary requirements and it will provide a full week breakdown of your meal plan, and a day-by-day workout guide for you to use at the gym.

For people that can’t afford a personal trainer, this is the next best thing, as although they can’t be with you whilst you train, it can give you the building blocks to be ready for your journey to start.

Education

Being in education can be some of the most difficult times for some people as they struggle to take in information and keep on top of work. With AI coaches, any work or homework that they’re struggling with, they can ask their coach for support. This will provide the student with a full breakdown of their queries, helping them to understand the problem, insights and where they’re going wrong.

This is particularly helpful as teachers aren’t always available, and when they are, they also have a number of other students also looking for support. With the AI coach, they’re available at any time of the day to support.

AI coaches work by taking information from various other sources and collating that data, then providing it in a way that is understandable to the user. Whilst AI has been around for a while, AI coaches are much newer and are still learning and improving.

Whilst there are always concerns regarding data and security with AI coaches as quite in-depth information is required to be provided by the user, which understandably causes potential risks for data breaches. Companies creating these are fully aware of these concerns and implement strict policies and defences to prevent any type of cyber attacks and ensure the users details remain safe and secure.

As more and more people learn about AI coaches and start to use them, it’s clear they will only improve and grow as time goes on. As AI becomes more intelligent, the information the AI coaches can provide becomes better quality and more detailed, something we’re looking forward to seeing how this progresses in the future.

Will you be using an AI coach? If so, what are you looking to improve in?
