Week 36: Asia Top Startup Funding Rounds Led by Sunrise

Asia's startup funding remained strong this week, with startups raising $430.8 million across semiconductors, AI, healthtech, electric mobility, aerospace, clean technology, and enterprise software. China secured the biggest funding round through its growing AI hardware ecosystem, while India attracted major investments across wearable health technology, battery swapping, and deeptech infrastructure. 

The Week's Biggest Startup Funding Rounds 

Here are the most notable startup funding announcements across Asia this week, ranked from highest to lowest. 

/1. Sunrise, $280 Million, AI Chips, China 

Chinese GPU maker Sunrise raised approximately $280 million in a new funding round, nearly doubling its valuation to around RMB 20 billion. The investment will help expand domestic AI chip production amid growing demand for high-performance computing hardware. 

/2. Ultrahuman, $70 Million, HealthTech, India 

Health intelligence startup Ultrahuman secured $70 million in funding from investors including Qualcomm Ventures, Labcorp, Alpha Wave, Blume, Nexus, and Alteria. The company will accelerate research in wearable sensing, AI, miniaturised electronics, and clinical science. 

/3. Yuma Energy, $35 Million, Electric Mobility, India 

Battery-swapping company Yuma Energy raised $35 million in Series A funding led by Magna International. The company plans to expand its battery-as-a-service network for electric two- and three-wheelers across India. 

/4. UBTECH, $13.9 Million, Robotics, China 

Chinese robotics company UBTECH secured approximately $13.9 million in Series A+ funding led by Dongzheng Capital. The investment will support product development and next-generation robotics technologies. 

/5. Kepler Aerospace, $8 Million, SpaceTech, India 

Bengaluru-based Kepler Aerospace raised $8 million in seed funding led by Blue Ashva Capital. The startup is building autonomous satellite infrastructure and plans to deploy its first swarming intelligence constellation.
