Bolt launches in DR Congo
Ride-hailing company Bolt (currently valued at $8 billion) is extending its launch to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This debut follows a string of entries into Botswana, Egypt, Zimbabwe, and Namibia in the first quarter of 2024.
The company seeks to capitalize on the booming ride-hailing market in Africa. Bolt market valuation is projected to reach $2.98 billion by 2028 with over 200 million users.
To attract drivers, the company is offering a commission-free grace period of 6 months in their new launch cities which not only benefits riders with increased options but also empowers drivers with better-earning potential.
