CHART: A Look at India’s Smartphone Market in Q3 2024
The broader Indian smartphone market grew by 9%, with 47.1 million units shipped, but early festive demand was weaker than anticipated.

Vivo's ascent is fueled by the introduction of exciting new mid-range products, which have ignited both offline and online sales. In the third quarter of 2024 alone, the company celebrated a staggering 25% increase in shipments compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 13 million units.

This surge in demand is part of a broader revival in Mainland China's smartphone market, which saw overall shipments rise by 4% year-on-year to 69.1 million units, according to the Canalys report. Much of this uptick can be attributed to seasonal shopping trends, particularly during the lively summer and back-to-school seasons, when consumers are eager to upgrade their devices.
