India and China lead with the most unconnected citizens in absolute numbers, despite high penetration rates.

The Internet has become an integral part of the daily lives of both individual persons and corporations with a recent study by Data Reportal showing that 5.35 billion people, or 66.2% of the global population, are currently Internet users in 2024.
