CHART: The World’s Top 10 Tech Companies by Revenue in 2024
Find out the companies that demonstrated capacity to redefine industries.
In 2024, technology companies solidified their position as key players in the global economy.
Drawing from the Fortune Global 500 list, which tracks the world’s largest companies by revenue, tech firms emerged as powerful drivers of innovation, shaping industries and consumer behaviour alike.
While the overall list saw aggregate revenues of $41 trillion in 2023—a near-flat but record-breaking figure—the tech sector has carved out its space with impressive performances. Beyond revenue, many of the tech firms that made the list also boast some of the world’s largest market capitalizations.
Leading this charge is Amazon, with $574.8 billion in revenue. It remains a powerhouse, blurring the lines between retail and technology with its expansive cloud computing, advertising, and logistics operations. Close behind are Apple, which generated $383.3 billion, and Alphabet, with $307.4 billion.
Microsoft, earning $211.9 billion, rounds out the top quartet of big tech, all of which dominate not only through revenues but also through global market valuation. Their influence transcends financial performance, as these firms shape industries and set trends in areas ranging from cloud computing to artificial intelligence.
