ChatGPT App Now Available to all Mac Users
OpenAI has just made its AI chatbot app, ChatGPT, accessible to all Mac users.
Launched earlier in May, the app was exclusive to ChatGPT Plus users, but OpenAI has now opened the doors to all Mac users for free. This means as a Mac user, you can enjoy the features of the AI chatbot right from your desktop, without needing a browser.
You can use the app to generate ideas, draft emails, or simply get quick answers. It supports uploading files, discussing screenshots, and managing past conversations. Accessing the AI is as simple as pressing Option + Space, bringing up ChatGPT in an instant.
Set to be available to all Mac users in the coming months, it is only currently available for macOS 14 and later, specifically on devices with Apple Silicon (M1 or better) chips. If your Mac uses Intel chips, accept my condolences.
Well, it does not just end there. OpenAI's collaboration with Apple promises even broader AI enhancements across their ecosystem. Later this year, iPhone and iPad users will also experience deeper integration with ChatGPT, including functionalities powered by the advanced GPT-4o model. This model, known for its ability to handle text, speech, and even video, is set to revolutionize how we interact with AI on Apple devices.
For Mac users eager to explore the future of AI, the ChatGPT app is now readily available. It’s a small step in the app’s rollout but a giant leap towards making AI an everyday tool at your fingertips.
