Climate Tech Startup Sentra Raises $2 Million in Seed Funding to Drive ESG Innovation
In a funding milestone that propels it as a key player in the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) space, bringing sustainability solutions to industrial companies worldwide, Sentra.world has recently secured $2 million in seed funding.
Co-founded by Harsh Choudhry and Vikas Upadhyay, Sentra.world is a pioneering ESG Saas platform that empowers businesses to excel in ESG through its suite of products including sentra.calculus, sentra.network, and sentra.portfolio.
These tools enable businesses in sectors like utilities, steel, cement, aluminium, and chemicals – which collectively contribute to approximately 38% of global emissions and 62% of emissions in India, according to McKinsey's Global Energy Perspective 2022 – to track and their own greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across their value chains, monitoring supplier emissions, and overseeing GHG emissions at the holding company level, respectively.
With a goal of having 500 industrial companies and 500,000 suppliers across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe, as valued customers within five years, the Bengaluru-based startup aims to make a significant impact on global emissions. The seed funding will accelerate its efforts to provide sectoral intelligence, track supplier emissions, and optimize environmental impact.
Led by Avaana Capital, with participation from RPG Ventures and Golden Sparrow Ventures, this investment will fuel Sentra.world's mission to revolutionize climate intelligence, develop innovative solutions, expand their team, and form strategic partnerships.
It is notable to mention that lead investor Avaana Capital leads a climate-tech venture capital fund that has a robust portfolio of investments in climate-focused startups including Eeki Foods, Aerem, FarMart, Turno, Terra.do, Ninety One, Praman (Intello Labs), Eggoz, and Praan, among others.
