In this article, we'll compare these two browsers across various aspects (including an infographic) to help you make an informed choice.
Speed and Performance
Firefox blocks third-party cookies and social trackers which can seriously slow down your web surfing, enhancing its performance. While Chrome does not do this by default unless you tweak the settings, it is still a bit faster than Firefox. With the speedometer, JetStream2 and MotionMark test, Chrome is undoubtedly faster than Firefox.
Customization
Firefox has an expansive library of extensions, themes, and add-ons, which allows users to customize their browsing experience. Chrome also offers a wide range of extensions from the Chrome Web Store, but it is less flexible in terms of UI customization compared to Firefox.
Privacy and Security
Firefox has a strong focus on user privacy. With features like Enhanced Tracking, users' online privacy is maintained. It also offers frequent security updates. Google offers security as well and regularly updates Chrome to protect against emerging threats. However, Chrome is linked to Google services, and google as an advertisement platform collects some of its user’s information, unlike Firefox which is a non-profit organization.
