In a significant move aimed at expanding its reach within the United States, Nigerian fintech giant Flutterwave has secured 13 new money transmission licenses across various U.S. states.

Founded in 2016 by Olugbenga Agboola with offices in San Francisco and Nigeria, Flutterwave was created to assist Africans in creating global businesses that can process and accept any kind of payment both domestically and internationally.

The newly acquired licenses cover a diverse range of states, including Arizona, Arkansas, Maryland, Michigan, Delaware, Georgia, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. This expansion allows Flutterwave to cater to a wider customer base within the U.S., offering its convenient and cost-effective money transfer services to a larger audience.

This strategic acquisition now allows the company to operate its popular Send App remittance service in a total of 29 states, solidifying its position as a major player in the international money transfer market.

Flutterwave has reached a noteworthy milestone with the acquisition of 13 new money transfer licenses in the U.S. as part of its major expansion. Its strategic move enables it to reach a larger customer base in the U.S. and expand its market reach.

Flutterwave is a key player in enabling cross-border transactions and bringing people together by providing practical and affordable money transfer services.
