A marketing revolution is set to beset the Asia/Pacific region – excluding Japan (APeJ) as Generative AI (GenAI) redefines the traditional marketing landscape. This is according to a forecast by the IDC.

The report foresees a significant AI impact on marketing in the Asia/Pacific region, particularly with the rise of Generative AI (GenAI). By 2027, GenAI is expected to automate 30% of conventional marketing tasks, including SEO, content optimization, and customer data analysis.

The report also highlights the evolving marketing landscape, emphasizing trends like dynamic journey orchestration, bidirectional AI marketing takeover, and the mainstreaming of conversational marketing.

In the short term (2024-2026), the focus will be on consumer-controlled AI, open advertising environments, and intelligent journey orchestration. Looking ahead (2027-2029), automation of traditional marketing tasks, quantum sensing, and marketers' skillset expansion take centre stage.

These predictions underscore the pivotal role of AI in reshaping marketing strategies across the region and emphasize the need for marketers to adapt their skill sets for the evolving landscape.

The report emphasises the increasing need for marketing leaders to stay abreast of these trends, stressing that Generative AI will act as a critical enabler, automating manual tasks and transforming the marketer's role.
