Ghanaian agritech firm, Farmerline has secured $1.5 million equity in its latest seed funding round, bringing the total amount raised to date to $15.2 million.

Farmerline focuses on helping farmers grow wealth through trainings, provision of fair credits, and the creation of paid services. They equip farmers with logistics networks to quickly deliver farm supplies to markets for better incomes reducing post-harvest losses and waste. The firm also works with agro-dealers and traders for more efficient supply channels back to farmers.

Since its launch in 2013, Farmline claims to have supported over 130 corporate and development partners across 33 countries to reach over one million farmers.

Farmerline is looking to increase its presence and distribution networks across Ghana and other regions and is already in the middle of setting up shop in Cote d'Ivoire as it continues its expansion across West Africa.

The agritech industry is bringing a new wave of advancement and efficiency in the output of agricultural processes using technology, enlightening farmers on how to leverage the use of technology to improve all elements of farming processes and maximize entrepreneurial benefits in agriculture.
