CHART: Global smartphone shipments expected to reach record low in 2023
A recent finding from Counterpoint Research has projected a further contraction in global smartphone deliveries for the full-year 2023.
Recall that global smartphone sales sustained a record fall in 2022, tumbling 11% year-on-year to 1.2 billion units, the lowest figure seen in nearly a decade as a slowing economy curtailed consumer demand.
The market intelligence service now foresees a further reduction in this figure, predicting a decline to 1.15 billion units—marking the lowest level in a decade and representing a 6% year-on-year drop, as the Techloy chart below shows.
