The decline was significantly more than in the previous second quarter as the market struggled with lacklustre demand. This was due to a number of factors, including a global economic slowdown, and rising prices that have soured consumers' appetite.
Looking at vendor performance, Meta with its widely accepted Meta Quest VR headsets remained the market leader in Q2 2023 with a 50% share, as the Techloy chart below shows, but this is down YoY from 66% in Q2 2022. This is likely due to the increasing competition from Sony, Pico, and other companies.
