Google is at it again, and this time around, it has released a new "Notification" feature that can be found at the bottom bar of the latest beta version of the Google app for Android.

This comes after the mobile web version of Google Search rolled out a dedicated notifications feed through a familiar bell icon at the top right of the screen back in March.

Now, the Google app for Android is getting the same treatment as the new Notifications tab is now available at its bottom navigation bar just after the Discover, Search, and Saved tabs.

Google I/O Event: Unveiling the Latest Updates Around Gemini
Check out all the latest updates around Gemini that were announced at the Google I/O event.

From what we know, the Notifications tab showcases a continuous list of alerts from Google Search, weather conditions, flight information, sports scores, movies and TV shows, and more. These notifications are grouped under two sections, including "Today" and "Earlier," with the latter tab showing updates older than 24 hours.

Each notification alert has a three-dot menu button next to it. Once you tap on the button, three options will pop up, including "Delete," "Don’t get notifications like this," and "Send feedback." Tapping on any of the notifications will take you to the search results for that particular update.

Interestingly, this "Notification" feature has already been made available to the Google app for iOS. So, seeing it already in the works on the Google app for Android will provide relief to over 3.5 billion Android users per data from AppMySite, knowing that they can now benefit from it as well.

This would also be one of the major updates that the Google app would be getting in recent times after it received the "Gemini" feature in its settings page and the "Share search results" feature that lets users share results in the form of links.

Right now, Google has not yet announced when it will be releasing the "Notification" feature to non-beta users. However, seeing how useful the feature is, we expect that Google will do so soon.
