Google launches Vids, an AI-powered video creation app
The AI-powered app enables you to write, produce, and edit video content directly from your browser.
Creating engaging video content for work can be time-consuming and requires specialized skills. That's why Google is introducing Google Vids, an AI-powered app designed to simplify video editing process within your existing workflow.
The AI-powered app enables you to write, produce, and edit video content directly from your browser, allowing you to create anything from product pitches to training content, work-related presentations and much more.
How does Google Vids work?
Beyond basic editing tools, Google Vids offers built-in AI features to assist users throughout the video creation process. Starting with a prompt, you describe the video you would like to create. Then, go ahead to select files in your Google Drive, or use stock content provided by Google in your videos. The AI then goes ahead to generate a storyboard based on these inputs.
You can also go on to customize the video by reordering segments, adding transitions, selecting templates, and inserting audio tracks or preset voice powered by Google Gemini to read scripts.
Additionally, Google Vids also facilitates seamless team collaboration in real time. All project edits and assets reside within the platform, accessible to everyone with the appropriate permissions, ensuring a secure and efficient workflow just as with any Google Workspace tool.
This all-in-one solution integrates seamlessly with Google Workspace apps like Docs, Slides, and Sheets, eliminating the need for additional subscriptions or software juggling.
Initially launching in Workspace Labs in June 2024, Google Vids will be available only to Workspace subscribers, while the consumer version is set for a later release.
