Google Meet's Picture-in-Picture Mode Gets a Boost
Admittedly, the picture-in-picture feature isn't new but this little improvement makes it easier
Recently, Google Meet has been going through many changes and upgrades. It recently got a much-needed redesign to its app, and its new Gemini AI enhancement allows it to take notes for you at meetings. Now, a slight improvement has been made to its desktop web version.

In a recent blog post, Google announced that Meet will automatically go into picture-in-picture mode whenever you switch tabs while in a video meeting. This way, meetings stay visible while you do other things, like view other work-related tabs, or play a quick game.
Having 50 tabs open at a time is normal nowadays, and it's very easy to lose the Google Meet tab in such a situation. This is another reason this feature is especially useful. If you were to accidentally click off the Meet tab, you would be able to expand the little display to take you back to the tab.
Alternatively, you could move the display around your screen so it doesn't obstruct anything.
The picture-in-picture feature isn't new, but automatically going into this mode just makes things better. This feature still allows you to use most of the buttons as you would on the full-screen tab, like end call, raise hand, camera on or off, microphone on or off, and more.
As it stands, this feature is only available with Google Chrome for PC. If you were to open another app, the picture-in-picture display would go behind the app.
Reportedly, the feature has already begun to roll out to all Google accounts and should be out by next month.
