Google Pixel's app launcher will now show long app names
But you can now look forward to a better experience.
If you own a Google Pixel phone, likely, you have been struggling to efficiently handle apps on your device, especially because the Pixel's app launcher chops off app names that are too long.
No, you're not alone, as nearly 38 million Google Pixel phone users globally, per Statista data, have been facing the same issue since 2026 when Google launched its first Pixel series.
But you can now look forward to a better experience as the Pixel app launcher will now show long app names in the app drawer and search results.
Per a report from Android Authority, there are indications that Google Pixel's native launcher on Android 15 (still in beta) will now give users the option to shorten long app names or not.
With this new update, Google Pixel phone users will now be able to handle their apps much more effectively, as the Pixel launcher will be able to show the entire app name by splitting it into two lines in both the app drawer and search results.
Users, however, won't be able to use this tweak on apps that appear on their home screen and would need to toggle on the "Show long app names" button under the Apps list settings to permanently have the full app names always on display in search results and the app drawer.
