Google rolls out text-to-speech feature on Chrome

Google is rolling out its text-to-speech called Listen to this page. This feature will allow users to listen to articles, blog posts, and other text files on the browser aloud. The feature support is not limited to the English language but supports an array of other languages.

While Google Assistant offers help to users to read web pages, the users have limited control over the playback. However, the Listen to this page text-to-speech feature provides a much more advanced functionality.

With the feature, users have control over the playback, including the ability to play/pause the audio, change the playback speed, and other controls such as turning on/off “Highlight text & auto scroll” and choosing a different voice, etc.

Although Google has been working on the feature for months and has been widely rolled out on the server-side with Chrome 125, it is not fully rolled out for users.
