Imagine eagerly updating your Pixel smartphone, anticipating new features and improvements, only to find your device acting up with flickering screens, distorted audio, and vibrations that feel off. That's the reality for many Pixel users following Google's March update, affecting models from the 7 to the 9 series.

The March 2025 update for Google Pixel devices was highly anticipated, promising new features like enhanced scam detection, improved battery management, and smoother UI transitions. However, shortly after the rollout, users began reporting a slew of problems, ranging from display glitches to audio issues and unusual vibrations.

Everything New in Google’s Latest Pixel Update
The March Pixel Drop is rolling out now.

Users reported experiencing random brightness drops and flickering screens, especially when watching videos. This issue is seems to be particularly prevalent on the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 7 series. Some users are also reporting odd audio shifts, where music becomes significantly louder than videos, making it hard to balance sound levels. Many have noticed changes in haptic feedback, with some describing it as “hollow” or overly intense.

Google has acknowledged some of these issues, particularly the vibration changes, and has provided temporary fixes, such as adjusting vibration settings in the phone’s menu. However, a permanent solution is yet to be released.

While Google’s March update was meant to enhance the Pixel experience, it’s clear that something went wrong. For now, users are left with temporary fixes and the hope that Google will roll out a patch soon.

If you’re experiencing issues, try adjusting your vibration settings or lowering your screen refresh rate to 60Hz as a temporary workaround.
