Google's Vids will now be available to most workspace tiers
It appears the top tech companies face AI as the next major update for any form of productivity. Just days ago, reports showed Microsoft was practically forcing its AI assistant, Copilot, on all its subscribers, while giving them Designer as a bonus.
But now, Google is also reportedly rolling out its AI video maker, Google Vids to most of its workspace tiers.
Previously, it was only available to Gemini for Google Workspace customers, now, Google is broadening its range to other Workspace subscription plans, including Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise tiers, and Education Plus, as well as Gemini add-on customers.
Unlike Microsoft's 60 AI credits per user, Google promises to allow users full access to all Google Vids' AI-powered features, at least till the end of next year. After that, it might have some limits put in place but notifications will be sent before then. The rollout has already begun and is expected to last the next few weeks.
Announced in April this year, Google Vids is an AI-powered video creation tool that simplifies the process of creating professional-looking videos. By using simple prompts, users can generate video storyboards and easily add text, images, and audio.
That said, its addition to multiple workspace tiers just feels like a no-brainer as it would allow professionals to slap decent videos or at least video ideas together easier.
With Google Workspace's 3 billion users according to Exploding Topics and Microsoft 365's 345 million users per Sign House, this addition could push the gap between the two even wider, especially with Google allowing its AI features to be unlimited for now.
