Gozem, a Togolese app-based mobility offering and e-commerce service providing platform has launched a $10 million fund project in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.
- The funding project will enable moto-taxi drivers in Togo and Benin to access affordable vehicle financing, and purchase or rent bikes to improve their income and livelihood.
- Gozem and IFC will test electric bikes in moto-taxi operating conditions and build a green energy swapping station network in Togo and Benin, in the next 12 months.
- Gozem launched vehicle financing 14 months ago and has assisted over 2,000 drivers with the financing option.
- The project targets decarbonization, reducing the cost of operations for drivers, and mitigating poverty in the West and Central Africa regions.
