If you're like me, you've probably found yourself lying in bed, trying to drift off to sleep, with some soothing music or a calming podcast playing on YouTube. But then, just as you're on the brink of dreamland, the next track starts and suddenly, you're wide awake again.

Even if the next track doesn't wake you, you could wake up hours later only to find your phone's battery drained due to YouTube playing non-stop. Fear not, though, because YouTube has a solution for this common dilemma: the sleep timer feature.

This feature, previously available to YouTube Premium users only, is now available to everyone. As the name suggests, the sleep timer feature allows you to set a timer so that your video or playlist will automatically pause after a certain amount of time so you won't have to wake up to the sound of auto-playing videos or dead batteries in the morning.
