Apple introduced a new feature in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 that allows secure sharing of passwords and passkeys with friends and family members.

Family Passwords allow you to create a trusted group of contacts for sharing passwords and passkeys across various devices. With this new feature, shared passwords and passkeys for media accounts, utilities, bills, and other services can be distributed among multiple individuals. Each member within the group will have the ability to access, contribute to, and modify the shared passwords.

NB: Password sharing is only available on iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, and can only be shared with iPhone users with this update as well.

In this guide, we will walk you through how to share passwords with family members and friends on iPhone and iPad.
