Indian fashion e-commerce Myntra ready to hire 16 thousand employees
Myntra, a fashion-focused India-based arm of Flipkart, an e-commerce platform, has announced its readiness to hire 16 thousand employees, to be festive season-ready.
- According to Nupur Nagpal, the Chief HR for Myntra, the firm will hire 10,000 employees for direct employment opportunities, including 1,000 employees for contact centres. 6,000 indirect employees would also be hired to ensure that the fashion e-commerce platform is festive-ready.
- 7,000 of the firm's hiring last festive season was for direct employments, of the 11,000 hired. Hence the firm is prepared to hire more as the coming festive would be a more open celebration post-pandemic.
- 50% of the supply chain staff from the new hires would be retained and those hired at the contact centres would stay till the end of their contracts, the firm claims.
- Myntra is hiring for roles such as Big Fashion Festival (BFF) that will include sorting, packing, picking, loading, and unloading, delivery, return inspection, and cargo fleet management. It aims to work with over 6,000 brands for the fashion festival. Up to 2,500 women would work in the warehouse team for the firm, it claims.
