India's smartphone shipments fell to 151.6 million units in 2022, representing a decline of 6% compared to the previous year, according to recent research by Canalys.

The research attributes the decline to intermittent supply issues and low demand caused by global macroeconomic headwinds. In the fourth quarter of 2022, India's smartphone market experienced its first-ever drop in shipments, falling by 27% to 32.4 million units.
