Indian wellness tech platform Growfitter raises $500 thousand in funding
Growfitter, an India-based wellness tech platform offering rewards for wellness and fitness activities, has raised $500 thousand in its extended pre-Series A funding round co-led by Venture Catalysts and Baksh Capital, to improve its offerings.
- The fund will be allocated to developing the startup's technology stack and infrastructure, expanding its business operations and hiring new talents, the wellness startup claims.
- Founded in 2016, Growfitter is a platform that rewards users for physical activities such as walking, running, cycling, and many other fitness-focused activities. It uses its motion sensor-enabled algorithm app to accurately predict if a person is walking, running, or cycling.
- Alongside offering a monthly-based health insurance subscription, the wellness platform works with brands like Amazon Pay, Defy, Byju's, Puma, Jockey, Myntra, Lakme, Tata 1mg, and ixigo, PharmEasy, and others for its reward program.
- The Growfitter app has attracted up to 1 million app downloads, with over 1 million disbursed as fitness rewards for users.
