India emerges as the third-largest smartphone exporter to the US
The Indian smartphone market has seen a remarkable uptrend from its previous $998 million to $3.53 billion in the April-December fiscal year 2024 in smartphone exports to the United States.
This growth saw the country increase its market share from 2% to 7.76% y-o-y, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, making India the third-biggest smartphone exporter to the US, after China and Vietnam.
India increasing its share amidst competition from China and Vietnam will solidify its position as a preferred destination for smartphone production, especially now that Apple has begun iPhone production in the country.
With the continued momentum, exports of smartphones are expected to rise as the Indian export basket continues to grow contributing to the nation's overall growth trajectory.
