Latin America’s startup scene saw a notable uptick in funding activity this week, with five companies across the region securing significant investments.

First off, Mexican solar startup Niko Energy, raising $8 million in equity funding led by QED Investors, alongside $15 million in debt financing. The company will use the funds to develop Mexico’s first virtual power plant and expand its solar and battery storage services.

With Brazil having one of the highest insurance penetration in Latin America and the Caribbean, Brazilian digital insurer Split Risk is looking to expand its insurance-as-a-service platform. It raised R$ 50M ($8.6 million) in a private equity round from HSR Solutions and La Barca Empreendimentos.

Brazilian fintech Neofin also secured $7 million in a seed round led by Quona and Upload. The investment will fuel the development of new modules, including an AI-powered renegotiation portal and CRM tools while expanding their tech and data teams. Meanwhile, another Brazilian fintech NeoSpace raised $3.1 million in a round led by Itaú, which contributed $2.5 million. NeoSpace, specializing in AI solutions for financial institutions, plans to expand its services and enter international markets.

Rounding out the list, Brazilian beautytech B4A raised $2.5 million in an undisclosed round led by 4 Equity Media Ventures. The company will strengthen its digital presence, expand influencer collaborations, and grow its direct-to-consumer brands.

This diverse wave of funding signifies investor confidence in Latin America’s tech landscape, with sectors like insurtech, fintech, solar energy, and beauty tech all attracting significant attention, in contrast to the previous week’s fintech-dominated activity.
