Kenya’s biogas tech firm Sistema.bio raises $15M to scale biogas solution
Kenya- based biodigester technology firm Sistema.bio headquartered in Nairobi received $15 million investment ahead of its 2025 Series C funding from ElectriFI, managed by EDFI Management Company, with participation from existing investors, including Chroma Impact Investment, KawiSafi Ventures, and AXA IM Alts. Founded in 2010 by Alex Eaton and Camilo Pages, Sistema provides biogas technology that transforms animal waste into clean biogas for cooking, heating, and electricity generation, while also producing nutrient-rich biofertilizer that boosts agricultural productivity. With the new funding, the company plans to scale its operations, expand into new markets, and advance its regenerative agricultural solutions — providing clean energy and regenerative agriculture solutions to smallholder farmers worldwide.
