Asia’s startup scene is buzzing this week, with seven companies securing fresh funding across AI, fintech, robotics, insurtech, and sustainable energy.
Leading the pack is China’s Zhipu, which raised $140 million in a new funding round to advance its AI research and strengthen China’s position in the race for homegrown generative AI models. Right behind, India’s Darwinbox locked in $140 million in Series D funding to expand its HR tech platform and deepen its global reach in enterprise software.
India’s fintech sector also saw a major boost, with Leap Finance securing a $100 million debt facility to scale its student lending services, helping more students access loans for studying abroad. Meanwhile, India’s InsuranceDekho landed $70 million in Series C funding to expand its AI-driven insurance platform and strengthen its distribution network across the country.

Over in China, LimX Dynamics raised $69 million in a Series A+ round to accelerate the development of humanoid and quadruped robots, pushing forward innovations in robotics.
In the clean energy space, Vietnam’s SmartSolar secured $1.85 million in seed funding to make rooftop solar more accessible to small and medium businesses across Southeast Asia.
Rounding out the week, Indonesia’s Zentide raised $525,000 in initial funding to develop seaweed-based biofertilizers and bio-stimulants, to support smallholder farmers and cut down on agricultural emissions.
This week’s funding highlights Asia’s growing focus on AI, fintech, and green energy solutions. With investors continuing to bet big on high-growth sectors, the region’s startup space remains one to watch.
