Kenya's Leta bags $3 million pre-seed to scale operations in West Africa
Kenyan Leta, a B2B supply chain and logistics SaaS provider has raised $3 million as it seeks to scale its operations across West Africa in the coming months.
- Founded by Nick Joshi last year, Leta is a B2B supply chain and logistics SaaS provider that helps optimize fleet management.
- “We are an operating system for logistics, and our software is able to show distributors the most efficient route to serve the customers quicker, and enables them to use less assets (vehicles) to serve more customers,” CEO, Joshi said in a statement.
- Using the Leta Software, businesses are also able to measure other vehicle metrics like speed, braking and idle time, among other data points that define efficiency in operations. Since launch, Leta says it has optimized over 500,000 deliveries, delivered more than 20,000 tons of goods, and managed 2,000 vehicles.
- The startup says it's currently looking for growth opportunities in West Africa by forging alliances with companies in Nigeria and Ghana, while expanding operations in its existing five markets: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The startup is also in talks with financial providers to offer asset financing to help clients expand their fleets.
- Participants in the round include 4Di Capital, Chandaria Capital, Chui Ventures, PANI, Samurai Incubate, and Verdant Frontiers Fintech.
