Kenyan startup TopUp Mama raises $1.7 million

TopUp Mama, a Kenya-based startup providing supply access, financial services and business management tools to African restaurants has raised $1.7 million in its seed funding round.

  • TopUp Mama provides Kenyan and Nigerian restaurants with affordable data-driven supplies, short term credits and tools for business management.
  • The startup has recorded a 1,000% growth and signed up 3,000 restaurants in the last 10 months.
  • The funds will be used to accelerate growth, build technology and scale sales management tools, the startup claims.
  • The funding round was led by Ventures Platform and JAM Fund, Next Billion Ventures, Future Africa, Jedar Capital, HoaQ Fund, First Check Africa and DFS Lab.
