Indian microblogging platform Koo integrates OpenAI's ChatGPT to aid post creation
Koo, the Indian microblogging platform, is integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT to help users create posts. ChatGPT is an AI bot that can generate text in response to prompts, setting off a tech industry trend over generative AI.
Koo's co-founder, Mayank Bidawatka, said that users can use ChatGPT within the app to draft posts on topics such as politics, pop culture, and current events. Creators can use ChatGPT for inspiration, like asking for trending news in their region and then writing their thoughts.
Around 20% of Koo users actively create content on the app, and Bidawatka believes that the ChatGPT integration could help increase that number. Koo is also exploring the possibility of adding labels to indicate whether a post was created with the help of ChatGPT.
Microsoft and Google have recently announced their own generative AI chatbots that can synthesize information across the web in response to searches. However, Bidawatka says that Koo is the first platform to integrate AI technology into the ability to compose posts.
Koo's ChatGPT tool can be used with either typed prompts or voice commands. The tool is currently available to verified accounts on Koo and will eventually become available to all users.
