Mark Zuckerberg announces Meta Verified

Meta has launched a new paid verification subscription service for Instagram and Facebook users for $11.99 a month on the web and $14.99 a month on iOS.

According to CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Verified will be introduced in Australia and New Zealand this week, and more countries will follow.

“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” Zuckerberg wrote in an Instagram post Sunday.

Last December, Twitter relaunched its updated Twitter Blue paid subscription service after the company’s new owner Elon Musk pulled and delayed the initial launch.
