Meet Assaf Rappaport — the man who just sold his startup to Google for $32 billion
It isn’t Rappaport’s first big win.
Assaf Rappaport is no stranger to million-dollar deals, but his latest one just made history. The Israeli entrepreneur and ex-Microsoft executive is the co-founder and CEO of Wiz, the cloud security startup that Google just snapped up for $32 billion—its biggest acquisition ever.
It’s a staggering payday for a company that launched just five years ago. But Wiz has been growing at breakneck speed, securing high-profile clients like Salesforce, BMW, and Slack, and pulling in a projected $1 billion in annual recurring revenue for 2025.

This also isn’t Rappaport’s first big win. Before Wiz, he co-founded Adallom, a cybersecurity startup that Microsoft bought for $320 million in 2015. He then spent three years leading Microsoft’s cloud security division before setting out to build something even bigger.
That bet clearly paid off as Wiz initially turned down a $23 billion buyout from Google in 2024, opting to aim for an IPO instead before finally agreeing to a $32 billion all-cash offer on Tuesday.
With this deal, Rappaport just became one of Israel’s wealthiest tech founders with a net worth of about $1.2 billion as of March 2025, and Google now owns one of the fastest-growing cloud security companies on the planet.
