Meta might soon allow users to share comments from Instagram to Threads

When Meta launched Threads in 2023, it was seen as a challenge to X (formerly Twitter). With its familiar interface, integration and promotion on Instagram, Threads quickly gained traction, gaining about 100 million signups just 5 days after it launched.

However, as time went on, Threads slowly began carving out its identity via several updates and integrations with other Meta apps. Recently, the app crossed over 200 million monthly active users, a sign of its fast growth, considering it's barely 2 years old.

In past weeks, Threads has been experimenting and adding new features to its app and now, there are rumours that it is working on another feature that would allow you to share comments from Instagram to Threads.

Meta’s X (Twitter) rival, Threads, adds new features for enhanced user experience
It’ll help creators and businesses gain audience insights, save more drafts, and rearrange their interface.

According to The Verge, a frequent social media reverse engineer found that there could be a drop-down post when leaving a comment on an Instagram post, asking if you would like to share it to the Threads app too

This feature is quite similar to what Meta did with Facebook and WhatsApp, allowing you to share status updates as stories from the latter to the former.

It seems Meta is striving to create a sort of communication hub with how much they allow for cross-platform interactions between apps. There are different social media platforms that all deliver content in a format you would prefer. For instance, Instagram can be used if you are into pictures, WhatsApp, for a more personal space and Threads act as an open diary.

Meta may even develop a Snapchat competitor next but I guess we just have to wait to find out.
