Business owners with WhatsApp Business accounts now have more features to work with as Meta rolls out a suite of new features designed to offer a better real-time experience and enhance customer engagement on the platform.

This comes after Mark Zuckerberg, during the Q3 2023 earnings call, spoke about leveraging AI to have business accounts respond to customers for purchase and support queries. He also talked about building AI agents that could help businesses in their conversations with customers.

Now, Meta has integrated AI tools into the WhatsApp Business app that will allow business owners to create ads to run on Instagram or Facebook and help make sure that their businesses are following up with customers who want to hear from them.

The tech giant also introduced Meta Verified on the WhatsApp Business app in Brazil, India, Indonesia, and Colombia. This means that business owners in these regions with a Meta-verified badge have their business information registered with Meta and receive impersonation protection.

They also enjoy enhanced account support and multi-device access, allowing businesses to seamlessly manage their WhatsApp Business account across multiple devices.

Finally, Meta introduced the ability to call larger businesses on WhatsApp with just one tap. This will come in handy when business owners have a complicated travel request or want to discuss opening a new account with a bank.

While some features like "Meta Verified" are currently limited to select regions, Meta has promised a wider rollout that will expand the functionality to its user base of 200 million monthly active businesses per data from DoubleTick in the coming months.
