Motorola unveils new Edge series with a wooden phone back
In what would be a response to competitor brands such as Samsung's Galaxy series, Motorola has announced its three new Edge series phones which will have a wooden back panel, a classic design feature it first introduced a decade ago.
The mobile tech giant has confirmed that the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will be the only device in the series to have a real wood back panel option. Others in the series, such as the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, will come with lavender vegan leather and vegan suede at the back.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra features a new Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset and a 6.7-inch OLED with up to 144Hz refresh rate, among other impressive features. Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro boasts a midrange Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset with wireless charging (the only device with this feature in the series), and the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will start at $1064, the Edge 50 Pro at $744, and the Edge 50 Fusion at $425. Motorola plans to debut these devices across selected European markets, selected Latin American markets, and later in Asia and Oceania.
