Neuralink Patient Becomes Capable of Playing Games With His Mind
The device can now function seamlessly with the human brain.
Elon Musk’s Neuralink, valued at $5 billion, per Traxcn data, recently did a live stream showing its first patient being able to play an online chess game by moving the laptop cursor using the Neuralink device implanted in his brain.
This development represents a major milestone as quadriplegics will now be able to regain motor functions and communicate more effectively by decoding neural activity associated with speech or commands using the device.
With Neuralink's development, the company will be ahead of the curve in the quadriplegia treatment market in the US which has a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5% for a 12-year forecast period starting from 2024 and is poised to be worth $4 billion by the end of 2036, according to Research Nester.
Other competitors such as The BRAIN Initiative, Synchron, Neurable, and CoMind will have to boost their efforts if they are to compete favorably with Neuralink for market share.
