Chinese brands are setting the pace for the global tech space

While Silicon Valley watches on.

by Kelechi Edeh Emmanuel Oyedeji Louis Eriakha Oyinebiladou Omemu

If there's one thing I learned from the MWC25, it's that Chinese brands are setting the pace for the global tech space.

For years, the tech world had an unspoken rule: Silicon Valley leads, while others follow. By others, they mean Chinese brands. But that is changing. At this year's Mobile World Congress, Xiaomi went all in with an affordable electric supercar; Lenovo ripped up the laptop rulebook by dropping a foldable that shapeshifts; while Infinix proved that tomorrow's smartphones won't need a charging cable.

In case you missed our coverage of the event, head over to Techloy's MWC dedicated channel to catch up on all the deets.

Until the next one,

Kelechi
