Google is facing its Goliath moment

With plans to break up its monopoly, competitors attempting to disrupt its search dominance and the latest accusations of alleged anti-competitive tactics, Google is getting cooked.

Google has been facing some serious heat lately.

It all began with investigations into whether the company genuinely cares about user privacy. Then, the U.S. Department of Justice stepped in, declaring it was time to tackle Google's monopoly and started making moves to break it up.

On top of that, competitors are eyeing its search engine crown—there are even rumours that Meta is working on its own search engine, while TikTok has rolled out features that have made Google a bit uneasy.

Now, things are getting even more interesting as Microsoft has come out swinging – calling Google out for allegedly plotting against the competition for several months.

Amid this whole drama, Google has mostly remained silent, but it's hard to see how long it can keep that up, especially with multiple slingshots aimed at the search giant.
