Do you ever get bored of the same content recommended to you on social media?

Instagram rolled out a new feature this week that puts you in control. With an Algorithm Reset Button, you can now hit reset, and let Instagram wipe its memory of your likes, follows, and interactions, allowing you to rebuild your feed from scratch.

It’s not just a fresh start. It’s a chance to rethink who you follow and fine-tune your feed. It is one that is particularly useful for underage children. With this, teens get an extra layer of safety, allowing them to step away from inappropriate content.

Compared to the hectic workarounds on other platforms like TikTok and YouTube, Instagram’s move feels bold, transparent, and just what users need. It would interesting to see how the other social media platforms respond.

Until next week,

– Emmanuel
