A plethora of features
If there's an award for the most features released in a single week, can you guess which company would have won this week?
Meta.
First off: Threads (Meta's 150 million subscriber-strong text-based platform) launched a really cool 'hidden words' feature – in addition to previously unveiled features such as a web app, keyword search, and an edit button.
Recall that its parent app, Instagram released a chatbot feature last week, while Meta-owned messaging app, WhatsApp got creative with its passwordless feature for iOS, a new contact feature, a message filter, and is now testing an events feature for community group chats.
With the plethora of new features and updates being shipped lately, one wonders if these social media platforms are genuinely after the best user experience or just trying to outdo their competitors.
Well, whatever the case may be, my favorite feature of the week is the cool Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. I mean have you seen those glasses? It reminded me of some of the gadgets that protagonists in Spy movies wear when undertaking a new mission.
So, what feature impressed you the most, and why?
Until next week,
– Henry
