π AI responses in search might soon become a thing
A change could be coming to the way you search online. Per a recent report, Google is exploring the possibility of charging users for access to AI-powered search results.
But hold on a second, before you panic about paying to find out about your favourite artist. The basic search you're used to β "Chelsea's lineup against Manchester United" or "best gym locations near me" β will likely stay free. So, you won't have to shell out money for those everyday searches.
For the more advanced stuff, the searches that use Google's advanced AI system to aggregate well-tailored responses might require opening your wallet. I'm referring to features that could give you more specific or insightful responses.
While Google hasn't confirmed anything yet, this potential paywall for certain searches has me scratching my head. What do you think? If paid, AI-powered "enhanced searches" eventually become a thing, would you consider paying for it or stick with the free, basic search?
Have a nice weekend
