And so it begins – the countdown to the end of TikTok, the most popular and influential social media app ever. Oh, RIP TikTok – you will be missed.

Oops, not quite yet. But at least in Montana, a U.S. state of over a million people, where over 200,000 TikTok users will lose access from January 1, 2024, no thanks to a new law officially banning the app on app stores.

But before you argue about how TikTok allegedly poses national security risks, just think about the impact of the ban on free speech. To think that there's even a hefty fine of $10,000 per day if app stores or TikTok itself allow individuals to access the platform or download the app seems ridiculous.

But hey, hello, VPN.
