"The Everything App" has to wait longer for the 'everything' part

It turns out that making an all-in-one platform doesn't come easy.

by Louis Eriakha Emmanuel Oyedeji Loy Okezie

Imagine a single app that could handle everything you want to do on your phone. Elon Musk, not one to shy away from ambitious projects, set his sights on transforming X to just that.

Although this ambitious project (which began about two years ago) has seen major changes with lots of features, it's still far from the all-in-one platform envisioned. Beyond the core functions of publishing your thoughts, direct messaging and voice chat features, and a dedicated version to watch longer videos on TV, the app has struggled to deliver on the promise of a unified digital experience.

It turns out that making this dream a reality comes with baggage too. I'm talking about numerous financial and legal issues that have significantly hindered X's growth and ambitions. With its recent ban in Brazil and alleged breaking of EU laws, I can't help but wonder how this could impact on X's ambitions to become 'the everything app'.
