Nintendo is planning to announce Switch 2 before April 2025
Nintendo Switch players can now look forward to something more exciting and amazing as Nintendo President Furukawa confirmed on X that the company would be announcing the Nintendo Switch successor within its current fiscal year.
This is a welcome development considering that the Nintendo Switch hasn't undergone any upgrades since March 2015, making it nine years since then.
Also, since the company's 2023 fiscal year ended in March this year and its 2024 fiscal year began in April this year, we are certain that the Nintendo successor will be announced at the latest in March 2025, going by the words of the Nintendo president.

For now, we don't know if Nintendo intends to introduce an upgrade to the current Nintendo Switch and call it the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch Pro, as speculated by those in the gaming space, or if they would be introducing an entirely different gaming console altogether.
Whatever the case, there are currently 123 million Switch owners globally who play annually, per data from GoNintendo, and would be more than willing to follow through and see what Nintendo has in store for them come 2025.
Hopefully, with the introduction of the new console, Nintendo can see a sharp rise in the sale of its Switch consoles and overturn the consistent drop in Switch console sales since their peak in 2021 and its forecast signal, which expects a 2.2 million drop in sales from the 15.7 million units it sold the previous fiscal year.
