Now you can share images, files, and YouTube videos to Gemini Live
Gemini is now an even more helpful mobile assistant following its multimodal upgrades.
Google has been expanding Gemini features to give it a competitive edge in the LLM domain, and interestingly, at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025, Google announced significant upgrades to Gemini, designed to enhance its personalization, interactivity, and accessibility on Android devices.
One key update is a multimodal upgrade to Gemini Live which will allow you to upload images, files, and even YouTube videos to the conversation making it more interactive. You could ask Gemini Live to review your uploaded file or video and give feedback.
The release comes after on an earlier announcement last October, where Google revealed that Gemini Live will soon allow users to engage in conversational discussions about documents, moving beyond static summaries or breakdowns.
In addition to this, Google, announced the introduction of Project Astra capabilities like screen sharing and live video streaming to the Gemini mobile app in the coming months, which is scheduled to first arrive on Galaxy S25 and Pixel phones.
Google also introduced features from Project Astra, its prototype AI assistant, which will be integrated into the Gemini mobile app in the coming months. These include screen sharing and live video streaming, as well as real-time AI-powered interactions using a phone’s camera to answer questions about objects in view. These capabilities are expected to debut on Galaxy S25 and Pixel devices before expanding to other Android platforms.
While the multimodal improvements are not yet universally available, Google noted it will soon make these features widely accessible across Android devices. With these updates, Gemini is set to offer users a more comprehensive and interactive AI assistant experience on mobile devices.
